Antinatalist messages at the Jerusalem Pride Parade

As in the pride parades in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Rehovot, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Leipzig and London, in Jerusalem the antinatalist messages were received with openness, support and humor. Many took pictures, many took pictures of themselves holding the signs, others smiled, laughed, supported, and although such events are usually not the ideal set for discussions, there were also some good conversations. There was even a short interview with two American journalists who came to cover Pride and the antinatalist message interested them so they talked to me.
And in addition to the antinatalist message that I brought, the wonderful Liyha, with whom I was at the parade, brought the non-human animals aspect.

And violating animals’ rights is what made such a wonderful event, in so many ways, terribly sad in my view. There were horses at the event. I didn’t expect it so I didn’t bring signs with me against the use of horses by the police. But I did stand next to them with Liyha’s sign, while I documented them. It was a good exposure to the suffering of the horses, and to animal rights in general, because many of the parade participants saw it, and I hope it made them see the horses, standing there in the heat, for hours, with people on their backs, not understanding what the hell they were doing there. I don’t understand either. They shouldn’t be there. There is no pride in exploiting horses. Enough with the horsemen!
