True, and anti-natalism is not a denial of this impulse, but an objection to its replication.
Just because something exists doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good. And in the case of reproduction the contrary is true, since the life impulse and the fact that it is strong causes people to create other people, even though these other people did not ask to exist, did not want to exist before someone created them, did not agree to exist or to experience certain vulnerabilities and find themselves at risk of countless potential vulnerabilities, etc., and so this urge causes people to do morally wrong actions and is therefore really not good.
The life impulse is not good because it does not come with a balm for all the ills of life or with an answer to all the difficulties that accompany life. The urge is for life not for everything that comes with life. People have no urge to get hurt, get sick, lose loved ones, work in exhausting pointless jobs for most of their lives, wear out physically and mentally, get disappointed, feel frustration, anxiety, boredom, loneliness, and someday die. But all these are an integral part of life and therefore, if anything, people are victims of the life impulse. In fact, without a built-in drive to live, many people would probably give up on this Sisyphean journey as soon as they realized that this is life and that it is not going to change significantly. In this sense this urge is a burden, not a gift worth spreading.
If life were good there would be no reason for the life impulse to develop among living beings. If life were good, living beings would simply want to live without any need for a built-in drive to live. The drive to life developed because life is not good in itself.
The life impulse is not good but if anything it is the opposite because it makes people cling to it even though in many cases it is terrible. People continue to live horrible lives with no real prospect of improvement, largely because of this drive. How is it good that people are trapped in a miserable life because of an urge forced upon them along with an existence imposed upon them? Why would we want to encourage and even reproduce such a situation?
