The European Tour

About

My name is Nimrod and about 10 months ago I started doing street antinatalism activism with the aim of establishing a local anti-natalist movement calling for an end to reproduction. To my surprise it is working better than I thought. This experience has filled me with a sense of belief and hope: if there is room for street activism on such an issue in my country, which for all sorts of reasons is far from an ideal place to start spreading messages about reproduction, I think it can work in many areas of Europe. I think we must try to make this happen.

That’s why I decided to go on a journey to try and promote anti-natalism activism throughout Europe. The journey will begin on April 15 and will include over 30 cities in 45 days.

The goal of this journey is to try and initiate grassroots activism in Europe, so obviously the best thing I am hoping for is that people simply join me at the outreach events. That’s literally the whole point of this thing. To help initiating some street activism in the hope of spreading anti-natalism across the continent on a regular basis.

I don’t know if this is The Time. On the other hand, the cliché about this is true, we really won’t know until we try. So I want to try. As mentioned, I had big concerns about this kind of activism in my country and I am really glad that I did not let these concerns stop me from trying. On the one hand, it is important that we will be responsible and considerate before we go out to the street, on the other hand, we must not let our concerns prevent us from calling for the change we believe in with all our hearts.

If you want to help but are embarrassed or uneasy to talk to people on the street about such a topic, I suggest you try to come anyway and even just stand a little to the side and listen. This is what I offered people who considered joining me at the outreach activities, and by the way in the case of everyone who came, without exception, at a certain point they felt comfortable enough and joined the conversations.

And you can still really help even if you really don’t want to talk to people (which I get, really), for example by filming some of the conversations. I intend to take a microphone and a camera on a tripod everywhere I go, but it’s obviously much better if someone can come and film the talks and take some pictures so that we can get better videos and then upload them to spread both the message and the concept of anti-procreation activism.

Another excellent way for locals to help as those who know well the cities I’ll be in, even without coming to the outreach events, is to direct me to locations you think would be best to do these activities. My intuition is university campuses in the mornings and afternoons, and central squares and entertainment areas in the evening, but of course I really want tips for locations from locals. That would be great. Please feel free to contact me.

Another way to help, if you want, is support. So far the expenses for local activities have been quite low. It required some office equipment such as paints, markers, brushes, etc., for the preparation of the signs, but mainly the price of travel to the activity locations. So far I haven’t considered asking for financial support for such expenses. But despite that my bar is very low and of course I am traveling by trains and buses, very, very high costs are expected for the European tour, and so this time I do ask everyone who supports this idea, and can, to contribute something to the campaign. There is an option to donate in the navigation menu above, and there is also fundraising specifically for the EuropeAN Tour: https://gogetfunding.com/the-antinatalist-european-tour

Speaking of support, the best thing you can do if you want to help is of course to get to the activity, because that’s the whole idea of this journey. But if it doesn’t work out for you with your schedule, or you really don’t want to be public with this worldview or something like that, but you still want to help, the best way to help in general, and financially in particular, is if you can host me for the night. Beyond a significant cut in expenses, it would be really nice to meet likeminded people and spend an evening with them, so for me it’s a win win and I would very much appreciate such an option if you can.

More ways you can help even without coming to the outreach events is by connecting me to likeminded people you know from your city who may be interested in coming to the outreach events. Or connect me to local groups on Facebook or Reddit or whatever platform you know so I can invite people that currently I don’t know of or how to contact, to join the events.

People can also translate the posts I am publishing about the journey to their language and post them in their groups or pages.

Another way people can help is informing me about local events that are expected to take place when I’m in their city and it would be possible to link the event to anti-natalism. For example I know of three events that take place during the journey and these are: Earth Day (on which I’ll be in Paris and intend to make an anti-natalist sign for this event), World Day for Laboratory Animals, and International Workers’ Day (on which I’ll be in Stuttgart and intend to make an anti-natalist sign for this event). So if you know of others please tell me.
